Kenny Florian vs Joe Stevenson likely in UFC 91
UFC Lightwieghts Kenny Florian (10-3) and Joe Stevenson (29-8) are supposedly going to face-off in a November UFC event. I am assuming it will be UFC 91, but it has not been made official.
With Florian’s recent win over Roger Huerta taking him to a 5 fight win streak, Florian is definitely one of the next in line for a lightweight title shot with current champ BJ Penn. However, there is a demand for BJ Penn’s next fight to be with George St. Pierre. The UFC is definitely considering this and it will most likely happen in December. (BJ will probably move up to welterweight) Read more
UFC 90 Press Conference
The UFC President, Dana White, held a press conference for UFC 90 yesterday and took place in Chicago’s Millennium Park. Here are some of Dana’s announcements
Dana White announced that Mike Swick will be added to the card but didn’t say who is opponent will be. Swick is definitely exciting to watch, hope they match him up well.
In addition, Dana White affirms that UFC 90 will be the highest-grossing event in the history of the Allstate Arena, breaking Wrestlemania 22′s record of 2.4 million dollars. And at about Noon on Monday, UFC 90 ticket sales had already reached the two million dollar mark.
This definitely corresponds with the fact that Chicago is the UFC’s #1 market for pay-per-view revenue.
Is Tito Ortiz Coming Back to the UFC?
Even though Tito proclaimed earlier this month that he had signed contract with Affliction, the former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is now negotiating with multiple MMA promotions.
The Dayton Daily News reports that Ortiz is talking to the fight promotions such as Affliction, EliteXC and the American Fight League. In addition, negotiations are also taking place between Ortiz and the UFC.
This goes to show that Ortiz is serious about getting paid. The truth is that Affliction and especially, Elite XC, don’t have the financial reserves to pay Tito the money he wants.
Although, Ortiz has not won in his last three fights and has a squabble with UFC president Dana White, I think that the UFC and Tito would both benefit if Tito came back.Tito Ortiz draws a crowd and certainly will be an advantage for any fight promotion that signs him.
Perhaps another theory to this story is that the UFC is only humoring Ortiz’s with negoitiations and is really just trying to drive the price up and get Affliction to spend more. Only one can speculate.
But it would be great to have Ortiz back in the UFC. His antics and the drama between him and Dana is pure entertainment!

Patrick Cote says he will beat Anderson Silva
And so it begins…. Patrick “the Predator” Cote speaks about how he will beat Anderson Silva in UFC 90.
Although many people think that Cote does not stand a chance, Cote has a game plan that will dethrone one of the best fighters in the world, “We know how to beat Anderson Silva,” Cote recently told The Fight Network radio.
“The only way to beat him is to push the pace. Go forward all the time.”
“You can’t let him get confident and comfortable in the centre of the Octagon,” says Cote. “You have to push the pace for five minutes every round. If I do that, I can catch him. I’ll take care of him.”
Hmm… Chris Leben essentially said the same thing before he fought Silva and we know what happened to him.
But, lets not count Cote out just yet. Cote has won five straight fights, all of which ended with a TKO. Not to mention Cote is the training partner of Georges St. Pierre, which can be considered an advantage.
Looking forward to how Cote’s comment will affect Sliva’s gameplan. Stay tuned…

UFC Ring Girl Rachelle Leah in Playboy

Rachelle Leah the UFC ring girl who turned into the “UFC All Access” host will pose nude for an upcoming issue of Playboy.
Leah was in the October 2006 edition of Playboy and was featured as the “Babe of the Month” but she was clothed for the one-page feature.
But this time around, Leah will supposedly bare all for her latest appearance in the magazine.
Perhaps one of the UFC’s most recognizable ring girls and very popular among MMA fans. I will probably check it out, not sure I have enough time…
