Phillipe Nover will be fighting in the TUF finale on Dec. 13, 2088 against Efrain Escudero on the main card. Nover has definitely gained some well deserved attention when he impressed Dana White, who described Nover as a “young GSP”. Also, his TUF coach, Noguiera compared Nover’s fighting style to Anderson Silva. While Nover has great expectations and really big shoes too fill, he has proven that he is definitely a talented fighter. He also recently received his Brazilian JiuJitsu black belt to help him continue his path as a rising star in the UFC, check out the video:

Chuck Liddell vs Randy Couture 4

While recent reports have suggested that the UFC might be interested in a fourth fight between former champions Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell for June UFC 99 debut in Germany, however the fight has not yet been signed.

During the recent episode of MMA live, commentator Franklin McNeil said that from his sources, neither fighter is excited about another potential fight.

Some of the concerns would be the weight class in which the fighters would be have the bout. As Randy Couture is looking to stay as a Heavywieght, while Liddell wants to stay at Light-Heavyweight.

McNeil expects that Couture and Liddell would be on the UFC 99 card, just not fighting against each other.

From a fan’s perspective, it might not be the best match up, anyway. A fourth fight between Chuck and Randy is not as appealing as it sounds. Both are coming off a loss and its not a fight that really would garner any more curiosity or excitement as it seems. The fight between Randy and Chuck have already been played out. Fans probably would like to see something new.

Sports Illustrated Names Kimbo as a 2008 Turkey of the Year

Sports Illustrated has nominated Kimbo Slice as “2008 Turkey of the Year” It’s not a surprise since Kimbo was touted to be the next big thing but ultimately was exposed in his loss against Seth Petruzelli where it only took 14 seconds for Kimbo to get knocked out.

Interestingly, Elite XC the now-defunct fight promotion who were responsible for several shenanigans, was not voted as turkey of the year.
