Elite XC Goes Out of Business

It is not surprising that Elite XC is now out of business, they were less than two years old but have amassed a huge debt and lost about $60 million dollars. On top of that Elite XC had to deal with the UFC marketing powerhouse. Very slim chance of Elite XC ever really making it through without having any Pay Per View events. Although they drew good ratings on their free network events on CBS, there was no real money there.
Also they were facing troubles with the controversy of Elite XC’s recent Kimbo vs Petruzelli fight and whether Elite XC tried to influence the outcome of the fight. It’s easy to see that Elite XC was in no business of being in the fight business.
Well… so long ProElite and Elite XC. You had me at free CBS fight shows, and Gina Carano.
Anyways, it will be interesting to see what develops of the Elite XC shutdown: Are fighters going to get paid for their recent fight? Which of the fighters will go to UFC, Affliction? What’s going to happen to Kimbo, is this the last we see of him? Probably check youtube later to see if Kimbo fights at another backyard barbeque.
