Who Will George St. Pierre Fight After UFC 87?

After George St. Pierre’s recent victory over Jon Fitch in UFC 87, people have been asking only one question.

Who will GSP fight next?

Most likely it will be BJ Penn. The fans want it to happen. The UFC wants it to happen. Most importantly both fighters are ready for it:

“Let’s put the fight together, let’s do it,” said Penn.

“I’m a proud champion and I’m ready to fight everybody who deserves a shot,” said St-Pierre. “I know BJ Penn wants a shot, and I’m ready for him. “

Penn will most likely move back up to 170 pounds for a shot at redemption. Penn had lost to GSP in March of 2006 via descision. This not only will make for a great event but will really test the abilities of both fighters. If (when) this fight happens it will probably be scheduled in the last UFC event of the year, which has traditionally been developed to be biggest and best of the UFC events throughout the year. We will be looking forward to this!
